    In line with transport rules, which require that all products used in vehicles are e-marked, our partner had to look at replacing all existing 4G hardware that their customer was currently using.

    The end user was deploying a large number of sound monitoring IoT devices around various venues across the U.K. and was looking for a single solution they could use at each site which would be reliable.

    The 4G coverage in the area was looking favourable and following site surveys, we were able to record around 35Mbps per SIM download. By bonding 3 x 4G SIMs the customer was able to operate at a reliable speed and by adding Quality of Service on the VoIP calls from the SD-ONE, the highest performance of the connection was optimised.

    Bin Sensors IoT Solution

    Partner has success providing bin sensors in a national park to monitor bin fill levels.

    Customer Challenge

    The customer was having to carry out daily bin collections at a national park, irrespective of whether they were full or they were over-flowing. However, many bins were overflowing before being emptied which resulted in causing an increase in rodents and litter in the park.

    Business Opportunity

    LoRaWAN infrastructure, including server and Lora gateways, and LoRa sensors positioned in a national park.

    Product and Services Solution

    Our LoRaWAN solution was deployed. We added LoRa sensors to these bins which send a message as soon as a bin is full and also send notifications as the bin levels increase and the bin fills up.

    Result

    In the trial alone, they managed to see many results including: a reduction of the amount of CO2 they were producing due to driving less, a saving on fuel costs by driving less, checking and re-checking bins, evaluating which bins were most popular so were able to organise effective collection routes. This bin sensor was also able to detect temperature, which was an excellent feature to improve Fire Safety. Due to the IoT sensors being deployed, they were able to stop a fire that happened at 4am in the morning. They received an alert which allowed them to react quickly to prevent a major fire in the national park and surrounding environment.

    Construction Site Wi-fi Solution

    Partner has success providing a managed Wi-Fi Solution at a construction site for 100 users.

    Customer Challenge

    The end users were a team working in the site office, which was in a double-stacked temporary modular building at a construction site. They would only be on-site for 6-9 months and would not be able to get a leased line in. The Wi-Fi would need to provide Internet connectivity for 100 users logging on.

    Our SD-ONE 300Mbps solution was deployed at this site, along with 2 x 5G Routers and SIMs to maximise the throughput. Once this was all connected, we were able to achieve just under 200Mbps download speeds at the site. We also deployed our Managed Wi-Fi solutions across the 2 floors to connect their 100 staff members.

The end user was able to be up and running in a matter of days with a fully configured and installed solution for the site, allowing their team to start working from the site office immediately.
